Participatory art project

¿Qué significa tener un cuerpo propio y formar parte de un cuerpo colectivo?
Poner el cuerpo o el futuro ya es feminista is an artistic research, a participatory art project, and a feminist art-education methodology that weaves somatic and visual arts practices to situate the body within feminisms, understanding its materiality as a political territory and image-making as an expanded field of the body's performativity.
Developed through laboratories of collective creation, it addresses practices of care and a feminist rereading of action painting as collective action, resulting in the Mantas de Manifestación series, large-scale visual works created through embodied gestures using cochineal-based watercolor and a tape-resist technique that allows text to emerge in negative.
Together, these processes, visual works, and their public interventions articulate a translocal reflection on feminist thought and practice, where shared presence becomes both a living archive and a collective statement.
Poner el cuerpo has been developed in Mexico and internationally in collaboration with cultural institutions, social organizations, grassroots collectives, and independent art spaces and initiatives, including Instituto Nacional de Bellas Artes (Mexico), Festival Internacional Cuatro X Cuatro (Mexico), The Women’s Building (USA), La Revuelta (Guatemala), the AWID International Forum (Thailand), Museo de Arte de Zapopan (Mexico), and Poco a Poco (Mexico).
