Poner el cuerpo o el futuro ya es feminista
2022-ongoing
Participatory art

¿Qué significa tener un cuerpo propio y formar parte de un cuerpo colectivo?

Poner el cuerpo o el futuro ya es feminista is an ongoing participatory art project and feminist art-education methodology that explores the body as a site of protest, memory, and visual production. It reclaims the image as an embodied, affective, situated, and collectively generated archive.

Unfolded through collaborative laboratories that weave somatic and visual arts practices, the project approaches the body as a political territory and proposes a feminist rereading of action painting as collective action, resulting in the Mantas de Manifestación series, large-scale visual works created through embodied gestures using cochineal-based watercolor and a block-reserve technique.

Together, these processes and works form a translocal reflection on feminist thought and shared presence, where the body becomes a living collective statement.

Poner el cuerpo has been developed internationally in collaboration with museums, grassroots collectives, and art spaces, including The Women’s Building (USA), La Revuelta (Guatemala), the AWID International Forum (Thailand), the Museo de Arte de Zapopan (Mexico), and Poco a Poco (Mexico).
